Softwares used in 3D computer graphics
Now in today’s world various softwares have been developed for different-different purpose in different-different fields. 3D computer graphics software is the software that refers to programs used to create 3D computer generated imagery.
There are various softwares which are used in 3D computer graphics and these are:
- AC3D (Inivis) – This software is used for modeling 3D graphics for games and simulations; used in used in Flight Gear for scenery objects and aircraft models.
- 3ds Max (3D Studio MAX) – Many video game industries that utilize 3D graphics used 3ds Max for creating cinema cut-scenes and developing models.
- Blender – It is a free, open-source, 3D studio for modeling, animation, texturing and rendering. It supports stack based modifier system; 3D view texture painting; flexible particle system with particle based hair; cloth/soft body dynamics, rigid body dynamics etc. Blender is available on all major platforms including OS X , Windows, Linux, Sun, BSD , Irix and is developed under the GPL and. It is the only 3D animation suite currently that is supported both on handheld computers such as the Pocket PC (Pocket Blender) and super computers.
- form•Z – It is a general purpose solid/surface 3D modeler. It is used in modeling and also features object-centric animation support and photo realistic rendering. Its users involved in interior design, architecture, illustration and set design product design. Form.Z is currently available for both Windows and Mac OS X.
- Electric Image Animation System – It is a 3D animation and rendering package available on both Windows and Mac OS X; known for its rendering quality and rendering speed but it does not include a built-in modeler. It has the ability to handle very large polygon counts.
- Modo – It is a subdivision texturing, modeling and rendering tool; support for camera motion and morphs / blend shapes. It is available for both Windows and Mac OS X.
- Swift 3D – It allows the user to create or import 3D models, animate or manipulate them, and export them for use in Adobe Flash documents. It is available for both Macintosh and Windows.
- Sketch Up Pro – It features a sketch-based modeling approach and has a pro version which supports 3-D and 2-D model export functions. It also has a free version; integrated with Google Earth and limits export to Google’s “3D Warehouse” where users can share their content.
So, there are number of softwares available for 3D computer graphics. You can choose any of them.
